Nathan Paez Dies After Being Struck by Vehicle in Corona

CORONA, CA, (September 22, 2026) – Nathan Paez, a 4-year-old Riverside boy, died Tuesday after being struck by a vehicle in Corona, according to the Corona Police Department.

Paez wandered onto Pleasant View Avenue near Smith Avenue at about 2:35 p.m. while relatives were attending to a parked vehicle nearby. He was then struck by an eastbound motorist.

The driver stopped immediately following the collision, and witnesses called 911.

Paez was transported to Corona Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 3:16 p.m.

The Corona Police Department is investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

CRASH INVESTIGATION

“It is essential to determine the precise cause of any accident. An attorney has the resources to examine applicable insurance coverage, retain expert witnesses, conduct background checks, and locate witnesses. We carefully assist the victim’s family throughout the process,” said Candice Bond, a managing partner with Bond Legal.

She noted that in cases such as this, conducting an independent investigation can be critical to preserving evidence.

“In addition to reviewing the police report, an attorney will examine the factors that may have contributed to the crash,” Bond said. “A lawyer has the resources to retain expert witnesses, conduct background checks on drivers, identify witnesses to the collision and review applicable insurance coverage. As an advocate, an attorney can help guide an injury victim through what may be a complicated process.”

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

While the investigation is pending, the victim’s family may be entitled to pursue a wrongful death claim. Family members of wrongful death victims may seek compensation for loss of companionship, pain and suffering, and emotional distress after a tragic or catastrophic accident such as this.

“The stress and sorrow can be extremely overwhelming after losing a loved one in an accident,” said Stefano Formica, Of Counsel at Bond Legal.

“We understand what families are forced to endure, and protecting their rights is vital. A wrongful death lawyer will monitor the official investigation and help ensure that their legal rights and best interests are protected,” Formica added.
