Napoleon Simmons hurt in Ogle Head-on accident IL

OGLE, IL, (April 17, 2026) – Authorities are investigating a two-vehicle crash Friday afternoon near Monroe Center that left two people injured, including 38-year-old Napoleon Simmons.

According to the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred at approximately 4:45 p.m. on North Kilbuck Road. Simmons, of Rockford, was driving a Buick LaCrosse when another vehicle traveling on East Big Mound Road failed to yield at a stop sign and collided with his car.

Following the impact, both vehicles veered off the roadway and into a nearby cornfield, where one of the vehicles overturned.

Simmons sustained injuries in the crash and was transported to Swedish American Hospital for treatment.

The second driver, a 23-year-old woman, was also injured and taken to Javon Bea Mercyhealth Riverside. Authorities cited her for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, disregarding a stop sign, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

The crash remains under investigation.

CRASH INVESTIGATION

According to the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), nearly 40 percent of vehicle crashes occur at or near intersections, often due to drivers failing to obey stop signs or traffic signals. Common contributing factors include impatience, reckless behavior, and distracted driving. Candice Bond, an experienced auto accident attorney, said these types of incidents require an independent investigation to ensure victims’ rights are protected.

“It is crucial to determine the precise cause of these crashes,” said Bond, Managing Partner of Bond Legal.

“An attorney can utilize resources to examine insurance policies, employ expert witnesses, conduct background checks, and identify witnesses. We guide victims and their families through every step of the process.”

“In addition to reviewing the official police report, a lawyer will analyze all possible contributing factors,” Bond added. “With access to expert resources, attorneys can build a strong case while helping victims navigate what is often a complex legal process.”

PERSONAL INJURY CLAIM

Napoleon Simmons may have the right to pursue a personal injury claim pending the outcome of the investigation.

Stefano Formica, of counsel at Bond Legal, explained, “Victims injured in crashes frequently seek compensation through personal injury claims to cover medical expenses, future care needs, lost income, emotional distress, and pain and suffering.”

“Insurance companies are often indifferent to the growing financial burden faced by injured victims. An attorney can make a difference. We advocate for victims daily, holding insurers accountable for their negligence,” he added.
