OGLE, IL, (April 17, 2026) – Authorities are investigating a two-vehicle crash Friday afternoon near Monroe Center that left two people injured, including 38-year-old Napoleon Simmons.
According to the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred at approximately 4:45 p.m. on North Kilbuck Road. Simmons, of Rockford, was driving a Buick LaCrosse when another vehicle traveling on East Big Mound Road failed to yield at a stop sign and collided with his car.
Following the impact, both vehicles veered off the roadway and into a nearby cornfield, where one of the vehicles overturned.
Simmons sustained injuries in the crash and was transported to Swedish American Hospital for treatment.
The second driver, a 23-year-old woman, was also injured and taken to Javon Bea Mercyhealth Riverside. Authorities cited her for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, disregarding a stop sign, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
The crash remains under investigation.
