Myles Sellars injured in CR-1 motorcycle crash in Logan

LOGAN, OH, (April 16, 2026) — A 16-year-old motorcyclist was injured Thursday evening following a crash involving an SUV in Logan County, according to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities said a 2015 Subaru Forester traveling north on County Road 1 attempted to pass a tractor partially in the opposing lane when it collided with a southbound 2003 Honda motorcycle operated by Myles Sellars.

Sellars, of Bellefontaine, was thrown from the motorcycle due to the impact. He was initially transported to Union County Memorial Hospital before being transferred to Ohio State University in Columbus for further treatment.

CRASH INVESTIGATION NEEDED

Motorcycles offer limited protection and a smaller profile, making riders especially vulnerable on the road. Even relatively minor crashes can result in severe injuries or fatalities. Although motorcycles account for only 3% of registered vehicles in the U.S., motorcyclists represented 15.5% of all traffic fatalities and 3.4% of injuries in 2023, according to the National Safety Council.

Candice Bond, an experienced motorcycle accident attorney, stressed that an independent investigation is crucial in cases like this to preserve evidence and protect victims.

“In addition to the work done by law enforcement, an attorney can revisit key witnesses, review surveillance footage from the crash scene, and obtain phone and texting records of the responsible party,” said Bond, a national analyst for Accident Injury News.

“Road conditions, visibility of signage, and lighting are all potential contributing factors that must be carefully evaluated.”

PERSONAL INJURY CLAIM

Pending the outcome of the investigation, Myles Sellars may have the right to pursue a personal injury lawsuit. Stefano Formica, Of Counsel with Bond Legal, explained that the stress and uncertainty following a serious injury can be overwhelming, affecting many aspects of life, including family, employment, finances, and overall well-being.

“It is important for victims to retain an attorney when filing a personal injury claim, as this allows proper negotiation with insurance companies,” Formica said.

“Insurance companies are often indifferent to the rising costs faced by injured victims. An attorney can step in to advocate for the victim and ensure accountability, helping secure the compensation they deserve,” he added.
