FATAL PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION

More than 8,000 pedestrians lost their lives in motor vehicle crashes across the U.S. in 2022 — roughly one death every 64 minutes.

The Governors’ Highway Safety Association (GHSA) reports that pedestrian fatalities climbed 80% between 2009 and 2023, while all other traffic-related deaths rose by just 13% over the same period.

A range of factors can contribute to pedestrians being struck, including speeding, driver error, distracted driving, and impaired driving.

Candice Bond, an experienced pedestrian accident attorney, emphasized that in cases like this, having a seasoned lawyer conduct an independent investigation is essential to protecting the rights of the victim’s family.

“Having access to the right resources is critical when investigating a pedestrian accident and establishing negligence,” said Bond, Managing Partner of Bond Legal and a national analyst with Accident Injury News. “Factors such as road conditions, signage visibility, and street lighting all need to be closely examined, as they may have played a role. This kind of thorough review is essential in helping families who’ve lost a loved one obtain the justice and compensation they deserve.”

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

The family of Wanda Moucha may have grounds to pursue a wrongful death claim. Relatives of wrongful death victims can seek compensation for the loss of companionship, along with pain, suffering, and emotional distress stemming from a tragic or catastrophic accident.

“We understand exactly what families go through in situations like this, and protecting their rights is essential,” said Stefano Formica, Of Counsel with Bond Legal. “A wrongful death lawyer stays closely engaged with the official investigation to help ensure the family’s best interests are looked after. Loved ones of wrongful death victims are entitled to seek damages for the loss of companionship, pain and suffering, and emotional distress following such a tragic or catastrophic event.”
