Motorcyclist Thomas Saddler dies after collision in El Paso

EL PASO, TX, (March 31, 2026) – A motorcyclist was killed Tuesday afternoon following a collision at an intersection in El Paso.

According to the El Paso Police Department, a 2022 Chevrolet entered the intersection of Montana Avenue and North Walnut Street and began turning left. Thomas Joseph Saddler was riding a 2018 BMW G-310 westbound when he attempted to avoid the vehicle by veering right.

His motorcycle struck the rear of the Chevrolet, ejecting him. Saddler was transported to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

MOTORCYCLE CRASH INVESTIGATION

In 2023, U.S. motorcycle fatalities reached a record 6,335, accounting for 15% of all traffic deaths, the highest number since 1975, according to NHTSA. With a fatality rate of 31.39 per 100 million miles traveled, improving driver awareness and road safety measures remains essential.

“Motorcyclists are among the most vulnerable on the road,” said Candice Bond, Managing Partner of Bond Legal. “Even relatively minor collisions can lead to severe or fatal injuries, making caution critical for all drivers.”

Bond, an experienced motorcycle accident attorney, explained that in cases like this, it is important to have an independent investigation carried out by a skilled lawyer to protect the victim’s family.

“Blind spots, driver inexperience, and distractions are frequent causes of these crashes. An attorney can serve as an advocate, guiding families through this difficult time while ensuring accountability when traffic laws are violated.”

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

Pending the investigation, the family of Thomas Saddler may have grounds to file a wrongful death claim. Families of victims can seek damages for loss of companionship, pain and suffering, and emotional distress following such tragic incidents.

“The emotional toll after losing a loved one in an accident can be overwhelming,” said Stefano Formica, of counsel at Bond Legal.

“We understand the challenges families face, and ensuring their rights are protected is crucial. A wrongful death attorney will monitor the investigation and help safeguard the family’s legal rights and best interests.”
