AUSTIN, TX, (May 31, 2026) — A motorcyclist was killed Sunday night in a collision involving a motorcycle and a vehicle in north Austin, according to police.
Authorities identified the victim as Luis Angel Gomez-Herrera.
Police said Gomez-Herrera was riding a motorcycle in the 9300 block of North Lamar Boulevard at approximately 9:47 p.m. when it collided with a vehicle.
Emergency responders pronounced Gomez-Herrera dead at the scene.
The driver of the other vehicle remained at the crash site and cooperated with investigators, Austin police said.
Officials have not released additional information regarding the circumstances leading up to the collision. The incident remains under investigation.
According to police, Austin has recorded 34 traffic fatalities so far in 2026.
