THERMAL, CA, (April 21, 2026) — A motorcyclist was killed Tuesday morning in a two-vehicle crash at an intersection in Thermal, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
Officials said the collision occurred shortly after 6 a.m. at the intersection of 59th Avenue and Pierce Street. A Honda motorcycle was traveling north on Pierce Street when it collided with a Subaru sedan heading south that reportedly made a left turn into the motorcycle’s path.
The rider, identified by the coroner’s office as 29-year-old Salvador Torres Garcia of Thermal, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities confirmed that the driver of the Subaru was not injured in the crash.
CHP investigators are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the collision, including right-of-way and roadway conditions.
