Mitchell Todd killed in Brady WA motorcycle vs car crash, WSP says

Brady, WA, (May 03, 2026) – A 60-year-old motorcyclist from Elma was killed Sunday evening in a collision with another vehicle in the Brady area, according to the Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities identified the victim as Mitchell Todd. Preliminary findings indicate Todd was traveling eastbound on Monte Elma Road shortly after 5 p.m. when a northbound Hyundai failed to come to a complete stop at a stop sign and collided with the driver’s side of his motorcycle.

The impact ejected Todd from the bike. Despite wearing a helmet, he sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead.

Officials stated that alcohol or drugs do not appear to have been factors in the crash. The investigation remains ongoing, and the driver of the Hyundai could face potential criminal charges.

CRASH INVESTIGATION NEEDED

In 2023, motorcycle fatalities in the United States reached 6,335, accounting for 15% of all traffic-related deaths—the highest number recorded since 1975, according to NHTSA. With a fatality rate of 31.39 per 100 million miles traveled, improving driver awareness and roadway safety remains essential.

“Motorcyclists face heightened risks on the road,” said Candice Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal. “Even relatively minor collisions can result in serious or fatal injuries, underscoring the need for caution by all drivers.”

Bond emphasized that in incidents like this, an independent investigation conducted by an experienced attorney is critical to protecting the rights of the victim’s family.

“Factors such as blind spots, driver inexperience, and distractions often contribute to these types of crashes,” Bond explained. “An attorney can serve as an advocate for the family, helping them navigate the legal process while working to ensure accountability when traffic laws are violated.”

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

Pending the outcome of the investigation, the family of Mitchell Todd may be eligible to pursue a wrongful death claim. Surviving family members may seek compensation for loss of companionship, emotional suffering, and pain and suffering resulting from a tragic accident.

“The grief and emotional strain following such a loss can be overwhelming,” said Candice Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal.

“We understand the challenges families face during this difficult time, and protecting their legal rights is essential. A wrongful death attorney can monitor the investigation and help ensure that the family’s best interests are fully represented.”
