DALLAS, Texas – Two people died Wednesday when their vehicle was struck by a train near the Medical Market TRE Station at Harry Hines Boulevard around 9:30 a.m.
Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office identified one victim as Melissa Rose Campanella, 50. A second person in the vehicle remains unidentified following the fatal collision.
Officials have not determined whether Campanella was the driver or passenger in the vehicle. DART officials notified family members of the deceased on Wednesday afternoon.
Rail service was interrupted while crews cleared the tracks following the accident. Train operations resumed approximately four hours later. No passengers aboard the train sustained injuries during the crash.
Investigators continue examining the circumstances surrounding the collision.
