CRASH INVESTIGATION NEEDED

The CHP is expected to issue a comprehensive report once its investigation into the accident that claimed the life of Mr. Corotis is completed.

Meanwhile, Candice Bond noted that crashes such as this often require an independent investigation by an experienced law firm to help preserve evidence and protect the legal rights of a victim’s family.

“In addition to the diligent work of law enforcement, an attorney can re-interview important witnesses, analyze any surveillance video from the scene of the crash, and obtain phone and texting records of the liable party,” said Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal and national analyst for Accident Injury News. “Serving as an advocate, an attorney can help compassionately guide a family who has lost a loved one during this difficult time, as well as protect their legal rights and best interests.”

Each year, roughly 36,000 people die and another 1.9 million are injured in motor vehicle accidents across the United States. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, speeding was the leading cause of fatal crashes last year, followed by alcohol, drugs or medication impairment, failure to remain in the proper lane, failure to yield the right of way, and distracted driving.

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

The family members of Maxwell Williams Corotis may be entitled to a wrongful death claim. Family members of wrongful death victims may seek damages for loss of companionship, pain, suffering, and emotional distress following a tragic or catastrophic accident.

“We recognize the hardships families endure after losing a loved one, and safeguarding their rights is critically important,” said Stefano Formica, Of Counsel with Bond Legal. “A wrongful death attorney can follow developments in the official investigation and help ensure that a family’s interests remain protected. Relatives of wrongful death victims may pursue damages for loss of companionship, pain and suffering, and emotional distress resulting from a tragic or catastrophic accident.”
