LIVINGSTON — A 47-year-old St. Amant man died after a vehicle struck him while he walked on Louisiana Highway 63 late Friday night.
Matthew Migliore was walking north in the northbound lane of LA 63 near Oliver Wheat Road shortly before 10:45 p.m. on June 28. A 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe SUV was traveling north in the same lane when the accident occurred.
For reasons still under investigation, the Chevrolet struck Migliore as he walked in the roadway. Migliore sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The driver of the Chevrolet was not injured. Louisiana State Police have not determined if impairment was a factor. Routine toxicology samples were taken and will be submitted for analysis.
The accident remains under investigation.
