FORT WORTH, TX (April 10, 2026) — A fatal hit-and-run crash earlier this month in Fort Worth has left one pedestrian dead and a suspect in custody, police said.
Officers with the Fort Worth Police Department responded around 6:25 a.m. to the 8600 block of Camp Bowie West Boulevard, where they found 27-year-old Matthew Hajar suffering from fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities identified Roger Fernandez as the suspect in the case. He was later arrested and charged with collision involving death and booked into the Tarrant County jail.
Investigators have not disclosed whether speed, impairment, or other contributing factors played a role in the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.
