ODESSA, Texas — The Odessa Police Department is investigating a hit-and-run accident that happened May 6 along S. Grandview Avenue.
Maria Valenzuela De Galindo, 59, faces charges of failure to stop and render aid. Officers said she struck a pedestrian and left the scene without stopping.
Police identified Valenzuela De Galindo after she returned to the scene. Emergency personnel transported the injured pedestrian to a hospital, where he was treated for major injuries.
Investigators reported that Valenzuela De Galindo initially believed she had hit a shopping cart. She contacted her son and then returned to the scene.
Authorities arrested Valenzuela De Galindo and took her to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center. Officials set her bond at $15,000.
The incident remains under investigation.
