TEXAS, OK, (May 02, 2026) – Two people lost their lives in a fiery rear-end collision Saturday afternoon near Guymon in Texas County, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP).
Authorities said the crash occurred at about 12:30 p.m. along Highway 136 near County Road Y when a vehicle traveling in the area rear-ended another vehicle. The impact caused the struck vehicle to burst into flames.
The driver of the second vehicle, 52-year-old María Fernández, and her passenger, 78-year-old María Villanueva de Fernández, both residents of Borger, Texas, were pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials said the condition of the 19-year-old driver of the first vehicle was not immediately known. The incident remains under investigation.
