Graham, WA — June 11, 2026 — A 79-year-old man was fatally struck Thursday afternoon when a school bus collided with his vehicle near Graham, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The crash occurred at approximately 4:25 p.m. at the intersection of State Route 161 and Eustis Hunt Road. According to the WSP, Manfred Bahle was driving east and was in the process of exiting onto northbound SR-161 when a bus operated by the Eatonville School District, traveling southbound on SR-161, struck his vehicle at the intersection.
Bahle was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Eatonville School District bus was carrying 36 students at the time of the collision. A 14-year-old student aboard the bus sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. All remaining students were evaluated by emergency personnel at the scene and did not require hospital transport.
The Washington State Patrol is leading the investigation into the crash. No additional details regarding the cause of the collision have been released at this time.
