ONAMIA, MN, (May 11, 2026) – A 74-year-old Wahkon woman lost her life Monday morning in a two-vehicle collision near Steven’s Road in Onamia, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
Authorities said the crash occurred shortly after 8 a.m. when a westbound Buick LeSabre attempted to cross U.S. 169 and was struck by a northbound Ford F-150 pickup truck.
The driver of the Buick was identified as Lynn Martha Stalker. Emergency responders from Mille Lacs Health System Ambulance, Onamia Police, and other agencies arrived at the scene, where Stalker was pronounced deceased.
The driver of the Ford pickup, a 50-year-old woman from Foley, sustained injuries described as non-life-threatening and was transported to Mille Lacs Health Systems for treatment.
Investigators confirmed that both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision and that alcohol was not considered a contributing factor in the crash.
The Minnesota State Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal accident.
