GULF SHORES, Ala. — Police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a 19-year-old man near the Gulf State Park Pavilion Friday night.
Luke Lambert was riding with friends when they pulled off the road and he got out of the vehicle. Another vehicle then struck Lambert before fleeing the scene.
Lambert suffered a broken pelvis and underwent emergency surgery to repair it. He is recovering in a Pensacola hospital following the operation.
Gulf Shores Police said they are investigating what happened as some details remain unclear. Two juveniles in the same vehicle as Lambert were arrested for underage possession of alcohol and marijuana possession.
Investigators said they have leads but have not completed interviews with the driver of the other vehicle. Police continue piecing together the circumstances of the hit-and-run crash.
