RANDALL, TX, (July 05, 2026) – A fiery single-vehicle wreck early Sunday morning in Randall County killed a driver and a passenger, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The passenger was identified as 31-year-old Luiz Daniel Lopez of Wildorado.
DPS said a 2018 Audi Q3 driven by a 34-year-old Amarillo resident was traveling south on South Grand Street, south of Loop 335, when it ran off the roadway and crashed into a utility pole, causing the vehicle to catch fire. The driver and Lopez, the passenger, were both pronounced dead at the scene.
It was not immediately clear what caused the SUV to leave the roadway.
The investigation remains underway.
