GREENE COUNTY, Ala. — A two-vehicle collision on Interstate 59 early Sunday morning left one man dead and another injured.
Lorenzo Cherry Jr., 34, of Tuscaloosa, died when his sedan rear-ended a pickup truck around 3:30 a.m. July 6. The crash happened near the 40-mile marker, approximately one mile north of Eutaw.
Fire erupted in both vehicles following the collision. Emergency responders pronounced Cherry dead at the crash site.
A 59-year-old Carrollton man driving the pickup sustained unspecified injuries and was taken to Northport Medical Center.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division continues investigating what caused the crash.
