Lindsey Everett seriously hurt in Toledo red light accident

TOLEDO, OH, (May 03, 2026) – A 35-year-old woman and two passengers were seriously injured Sunday evening in a collision involving a driver who allegedly ran a red light in Toledo.

According to police, Lindsey Everett, of Clinton Township, was driving eastbound on Glendale Avenue at 5 p.m. when she attempted to turn left onto Anthony Wayne Trail. At that time, another motorist reportedly failed to stop at a red light, leading to a crash.

Everett sustained serious injuries and was transported to ProMedica Toledo Hospital.

A 12-year-old passenger, Allie Everett, also suffered serious injuries and was taken to the same hospital for treatment. Another passenger, 15-year-old Brice Everett, sustained life-threatening injuries and was also transported to Toledo Hospital.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident.

CRASH INVESTIGATION NEEDED

Drivers are required to stop at all red lights—it is one of the most fundamental traffic laws.

However, according to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), in 2022, 1,149 people were killed in crashes involving red-light violations, and an additional 100,000 were injured. Such incidents often occur due to factors like distraction, speeding, impatience, or poor judgment of signal timing.

Candice Bond, an experienced auto accident attorney, emphasized that these types of cases often require an independent review to ensure victims’ rights are protected.

“Along with the police findings, an attorney will examine all contributing elements that may have led to the collision,” said Bond, Managing Partner with Bond Legal and a national analyst for Accident Injury News. “Acting as an advocate, legal counsel can assist victims and their families through what is often a complex and challenging process.”

PERSONAL INJURY CLAIM

Lindsey Everett, Allie Everett, and Brice Everett may be eligible to pursue a personal injury lawsuit. Stefano Formica, Of Counsel with Bond Legal, noted that the aftermath of a serious injury can bring significant emotional and financial strain, impacting family life, employment, and overall well-being.

“While no financial recovery can fully compensate for a severe injury, it is essential that victims understand their legal rights and the compensation they may be entitled to,” Formica said. “Those injured in this crash could seek damages for medical costs, ongoing treatment, pain and suffering, and emotional distress.”
