Lebanon Motorist Injured in Laclede County Two-Truck Accident

LACLEDE, MO, (April 28, 2026) – A 55-year-old Lebanon man was seriously injured Tuesday morning following a two-vehicle crash in Laclede County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP).

Authorities said the crash occurred at approximately 6:50 a.m. along Highway 64 near Mineral Drive. A 2013 Chevrolet Silverado traveling eastbound rear-ended a 2009 Nissan Titan that had slowed due to sunlight conditions.

The Lebanon man driving the Nissan sustained serious injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital – Springfield for treatment. The 54-year-old driver of the Chevrolet was also taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by MSHP officials.

CRASH INVESTIGATION NEEDED

When a driver follows another vehicle too closely, their ability to react is significantly reduced, often leading to crashes like this one. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reports that nearly 90 percent of rear-end collisions are linked to distracted driving. Common distractions include texting, eating, adjusting controls, observing roadside incidents, and interacting with passengers.

In 2023 alone, approximately 2.2 million people suffered injuries in motor vehicle crashes nationwide, based on NHTSA data.

According to Candice Bond, Managing Partner of Bond Legal, failure-to-yield incidents are frequently caused by driver negligence. Other contributing factors may include impatience, reckless behavior, or inattention behind the wheel.

While authorities continue to examine the cause and liability in this case, Bond emphasized the importance of an independent investigation conducted by an experienced attorney.

“As personal injury attorneys, our role is to provide legal guidance and support to those harmed in accidents. We help safeguard victims’ rights and ensure their statements are not misused by law enforcement or insurance companies,” added Bond, a national analyst for Accident Injury News.

“Acting quickly is critical in cases like this, as timely evidence review can significantly impact the outcome.”

PERSONAL INJURY CLAIM

Pending the outcome of the investigation, the injured victim may be entitled to pursue a personal injury claim. Stefano Formica, Of Counsel with Bond Legal, explained that the aftermath of a serious accident can place immense strain on victims, affecting their family life, employment, finances, and overall well-being.

“It is crucial for victims to retain an attorney when pursuing a personal injury claim, as legal representation ensures effective negotiation with insurance providers,” Formica stated.

“Insurance companies often show little concern for the escalating costs faced by injured individuals. An attorney can advocate on their behalf. We work daily to protect victims and hold insurers accountable for their obligations,” he added.
