CLAYTON, Ohio — A 29-year-old Dayton resident died Wednesday afternoon in a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 70 in Clayton.
Lavan Stark was pronounced dead at the scene by Brookville Fire and EMS personnel. The accident happened at around 2:30 p.m. at milepost 22, just past Arlington Road in the westbound lanes.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol Dayton Post, Stark was driving a Buick LeSabre when he attempted to make a left turn from the right lane to access the emergency vehicle crossover in the median.
A tractor-trailer struck Stark’s vehicle during the turning attempt. The impact caused the tractor-trailer to crash into the trailer of another 18-wheeler.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. No charges have been filed at this time.
