Kristopher David killed in Fort Lauderdale T-bone wreck

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL, (March 26, 2026) – A 33-year-old man, identified as Kristopher David, died Thursday from injuries sustained in a high-speed crash in Fort Lauderdale, police said.

According to investigators, the crash occurred Wednesday when a black Audi traveling west on W. Broward Boulevard at a high rate of speed T-boned a white BMW at the intersection with N.W. Seventh Avenue.

The Audi then collided with a Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue engine. Surveillance footage reportedly shows the BMW slowly entering the intersection before the crash.

David, who was driving the BMW, was taken to a hospital in critical condition, placed on life support, and later died.

The crash remains under investigation.

CRASH INVESTIGATION

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, speeding contributed to 29 percent of all traffic fatalities in 2023, accounting for 11,775 deaths across the country. Excessive speed not only plays a role in many fatal crashes but also increases the severity of collisions, making serious injury or death more likely.

“Road conditions, visibility, and lighting are all possible contributing factors that are reviewed and analyzed,” said Candice Bond, Managing Partner with Bond Legal.

“In some cases, an accident reconstruction team is necessary to determine exactly what occurred. These resources are essential in helping clients recover compensation for damages or losses following a crash,” Bond added.

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

Pending the investigation, the family of Kristopher David could pursue a wrongful death claim. Family members of wrongful death victims may seek damages for loss of companionship, pain and suffering, and emotional distress following a tragic or catastrophic accident such as this.

“The stress and sorrow can be overwhelming after losing a loved one in an accident,” said Stefano Formica, of counsel at Bond Legal.

“We understand what families endure during these difficult times, and protecting their rights is essential. A wrongful death attorney will stay informed about the official investigation and help ensure that their legal rights and best interests are protected.”
