Police: Kobe Fritts suffers injuries in Cincinnati hit-and-run

CINCINNATI, OH, (March 26, 2026) — A 25-year-old man was seriously injured in a hit-and-run accident in Cincinnati’s Over-the-Rhine neighborhood.

Kobe Fritts was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of 13th and Walnut streets. Authorities said the driver fled the scene immediately after the collision.

Fritts was transported to a hospital, where he underwent surgery. He is expected to be out of work for several months as he recovers from his injuries.

The case remains under investigation. Officials are hopeful that surveillance cameras at the intersection will help identify the suspect. Meanwhile, Fritts’ family has launched an online fundraiser to assist with medical expenses.

HIT-AND-RUN ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION

It can be difficult to track down a hit-and-run driver who leaves the scene after a crash.

Alongside law enforcement efforts, an experienced attorney can help by hiring investigators to locate witnesses, examine surveillance footage, and collect critical evidence. Approximately 11 percent of all crashes involve a hit-and-run driver.

Many drivers flee due to intoxication, lack of a valid license, or fear of arrest.

Candice Bond, an experienced hit-and-run accident attorney, said in cases like this that it is essential to conduct an independent investigation through a skilled attorney to safeguard the rights of victims and their families.

“Having the proper resources is crucial to investigate a hit-and-run accident case and prove negligence,” said Bond, Managing Partner of Bond Legal and a national analyst for Accident Injury News. “Road conditions, signage visibility, and road lighting are all potential contributing factors that must be carefully reviewed. These steps are vital in helping victims pursue justice and secure the compensation they deserve.”

PERSONAL INJURY CLAIM

Kobe Fritts may have the right to pursue a personal injury lawsuit. Stefano Formica, Of Counsel with Bond Legal, noted that the stress and anxiety following a serious injury can be overwhelming, affecting every aspect of life, including family, employment, finances, and overall well-being.

“Although no amount of money can truly compensate for a severe injury, it is important that victims understand their legal rights and what they may be entitled to,” Formica added. “The injured victim in this collision may be eligible to file an injury claim and seek compensation for medical expenses, future care, pain and suffering, and emotional distress.”
