LOVES PARK, Ill. — Loves Park Police are investigating a fatal two-vehicle accident that killed a 70-year-old Rockford man on June 8.
The accident occurred around noon at the intersection of E. Riverside Boulevard and Pebble Creek Trail.
Kevin Barbour, 70, was attempting to turn left onto Pebble Creek from Riverside Boulevard when a westbound vehicle struck his car during the turn. First responders found Barbour unresponsive and not breathing at the scene.
Barbour was rushed to an area hospital where he succumbed to injuries.
The Winnebago County Coroner’s Office conducted an autopsy on Monday. The examination determined Barbour died from multiple blunt trauma wounds sustained in the accident.

Loves Park Police continue investigating the accident. The Winnebago County Coroner’s Office is also participating in the ongoing investigation.
