MARION COUNTY, Ore. — A motorcyclist died in a crash involving a truck just outside Silverton on the afternoon of June 20.
Deputies with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office reported the crash just after 4:45 p.m. The accident occurred near the 8000 block of Mt. Angel Highway.
Kenneth Jenck, 51, of Gladstone was pronounced dead at the scene, according to deputies. The motorcycle operator died from injuries sustained in the collision. A 39-year-old Salem man drove the truck involved in the crash. The driver sustained minor injuries but remained at the scene. He is cooperating with the investigation.
No citations have been issued or arrests made at this time, authorities said. Deputies confirmed the truck driver stayed to assist investigators.
Marion County CRASH Team investigators responded to examine the scene. Multiple agencies provided assistance. These included the Marion County District Attorney’s Office, Mt. Angel Fire District, Marion County Public Works, the Marion County Medical Examiner’s Office and Silverton Police Department.
The investigation continues as authorities work to determine the cause of the fatal collision.
Officials have not released additional details about the circumstances surrounding the accident.
