Kenneth Harris dies after being hit by train in Industry

INDUSTRY, CA, January 05, 2026 — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a Metrolink train Monday evening in Industry, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Authorities said the crash occurred around 5:55 p.m. in the 13000 block of Temple Avenue near Valley Boulevard. The victim, identified as 55-year-old Kenneth Harris, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office reported that Harris died from multiple blunt traumatic injuries. Investigators have not released additional details as the case remains under investigation.

CRASH INVESTIGATION NEEDED

Hundreds of people are killed each year in train-related incidents across the United States, frequently at locations with inadequate fencing, malfunctioning signals, or poorly marked crossings. According to the National Safety Council, railroad-related deaths totaled 954 in 2024, reflecting a 1% decrease from the revised 2023 figure of 967.

Candice Bond, an experienced train accident attorney, emphasized the importance of conducting an independent investigation as quickly as possible in cases involving fatal train collisions.

“In situations like this, a prompt and thorough investigation by a seasoned attorney is critical to preserving evidence for a victim’s family,” said Bond, Managing Partner of Bond Legal.

“A skilled attorney can help shield grieving families from large railroad companies, which often deploy their own investigators and have extensive resources available to defend against claims. Time is critical, and evidence must be secured and reviewed without delay,” Bond added.

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

Pending the outcome of the investigation, the family members of Kenneth Harris may have the right to pursue a wrongful death claim. Surviving relatives may seek compensation for loss of companionship, pain and suffering, and emotional distress following a catastrophic accident.

“The emotional strain following the loss of a loved one in a sudden accident can be overwhelming,” said Stefano Formica, Of Counsel with Bond Legal.

“A wrongful death attorney will continue to monitor the official investigation and work to ensure that the victim’s legal rights and best interests are fully protected throughout the process,” Formica stated.
