WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — The Winston-Salem Police Department is investigating a hit-and-run accident that happened May 14 at 9:14 p.m. on New Walkertown Road. Officials said a vehicle struck a moped rider and fled the scene.
Authorities identified the injured as Kenneth Harrington, 54. Emergency personnel transported him to a hospital, where he remains in critical but stable condition.
Harrington was riding a moped in the 2600 block of New Walkertown Road when a blue Ford Escape turned in front of him while entering a gas station.
Officials said the suspect vehicle left before police arrived.
Authorities urge anyone with information to contact law enforcement. The investigation remains ongoing.
