HOT SPRINGS, Ark. — A 19-year-old Hot Springs woman died on Tuesday afternoon when a a vehicle crossed the centerline and struck her vehicle head-on.
Kayli Turney was pronounced dead following the 1:26 p.m. collision. The crash also claimed the life of a 77-year-old Hot Springs woman driving a 2018 Toyota. The crash occurred under clear skies and dry road conditions.
The Toyota was headed south on Highway 7 when it crossed into the northbound lane and struck a 2008 Hyundai head-on. The Toyota’s driver was pronounced dead at the scene by the Garland County Coroner’s Office.
Turney was riding as a passenger in the Hyundai driven by a 21-year-old Hot Springs man. Emergency crews transported the driver and a minor passenger to CHI St. Vincent for treatment of unspecified injuries.
The extent of Neito’s injuries was not immediately clear on Tuesday evening. The condition of the minor passenger also remained unknown.
The Garland County Coroner’s Office will conduct autopsies to determine the exact cause of death for both victims.
