Police: Katie Holman killed in wrong-way collision in Missouri

CRASH INVESTIGATION NEEDED

According to Candice Bond, an experienced auto accident attorney, a variety of factors may contribute to a wrong-way crash, including driver error, distracted driving, fatigue, and roadway design issues.

One of the leading causes of wrong-way accidents is driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Data from the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) shows that up to 75 percent of these crashes involve impaired drivers.

Bond noted that in cases like this, it is crucial to have an independent investigation conducted promptly to preserve evidence for victims.

“In addition to the work done by law enforcement, an attorney will thoroughly examine all contributing factors,” said Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal and a national analyst for Accident Injury News. “A lawyer has the resources to hire expert witnesses, review driver histories, locate witnesses, and evaluate insurance coverage. Acting as an advocate, an attorney can help guide injured victims through a difficult time while protecting their legal rights and interests.”

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

The family members of Katie Holman may be entitled to a wrongful death claim. Family members of wrongful death victims may seek damages for loss of companionship, pain and suffering, and emotional distress following a tragic or catastrophic accident such as this tragic incident.

“The stress and grief can be overwhelming after losing a loved one in an accident,” said Stefano Formica, Of Counsel with Bond Legal. “We understand the challenges families face, and protecting their rights is essential. A wrongful death attorney will remain informed about the investigation and help safeguard their legal rights and best interests.”

Additionally, those injured in this crash may have the right to pursue a personal injury lawsuit.
