ROCK HILL, SC (April 03, 2026) – A 37-year-old woman was struck and killed by a vehicle Friday morning on Interstate 77 in Rock Hill.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, Katherine Mendoza Amador had been driving a 2014 Jeep Wrangler towing a trailer that became loose.
Authorities said she exited her vehicle around 10:30 a.m. while it was still in the roadway. At that time, she was struck by a 2018 Jeep Renegade.
The incident remains under investigation.
Ms. Mendoza Amador’s family is now grieving her sudden and tragic loss.
