NASHVILLE, TN, (April 23, 2026) – A 29-year-old man was killed and another driver was injured Thursday evening in a high-speed rear-end collision on Interstate 24 in Nashville, according to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department (MNPD).
Authorities said the crash occurred around 6:50 p.m. near Whites Creek Pike. A BMW 550 traveling east slowed due to merging traffic when it was struck from behind by a Honda Civic approaching at a high rate of speed.
The driver of the Honda, identified as Juan Marin-Ramirez, was transported to TriStar Skyline Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.
The 28-year-old driver of the BMW was also taken to Skyline Medical Center with injuries described as non-life-threatening.
Police reported no signs of impairment for either driver at the scene. Preliminary findings indicate that excessive speed by the Honda Civic was a primary contributing factor. The investigation remains ongoing.
