Jose L’Esperance tragically dies after Ellis County tractor-trailer accident

Oklahoma recorded approximately 125 fatal tractor-trailer crashes annually between 2017-2023, with over 1,475 injury crashes involving commercial trucks each year during that period, according to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration data.

During those seven years, a person died in a truck-related crash every three days on Oklahoma highways, while someone was injured in a truck crash every six hours.

The majority of serious incidents occur on interstate highways and major corridors, often involving driver fatigue, speed-related factors, or mechanical issues, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol’s commercial vehicle enforcement division.
