ASP: Jonesboro Hwy 18 collision with truck kills motorcyclist David Ray

JONESBORO, AR, (April 22, 2026) – A 60-year-old Brookland man was killed Tuesday evening in a collision involving a motorcycle and a commercial truck in Jonesboro, according to the Arkansas State Police (ASP).

David Ray was riding a 2024 Harley-Davidson motorcycle eastbound on Highway 18 East at approximately 5:41 p.m. when a 2026 International truck attempted to turn south at the intersection with Nestle Way.

Authorities said the trailer of the truck swung into the path of the motorcycle, resulting in a collision.

Ray sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the commercial vehicle was not injured.

Troopers reported that weather conditions were clear and the roadway was dry at the time of the crash. The Jonesboro Police Department is continuing to investigate the incident.

CRASH INVESTIGATION

Candice Bond, an experienced commercial accident attorney, stated that in situations like this, conducting a timely and independent investigation is crucial to safeguard the rights of victims.

“Commercial vehicle crashes are often complicated, with multiple potential contributing factors,” said Bond, Managing Partner of Bond Legal.

“An attorney can help level the playing field by protecting victims from trucking companies, which frequently dispatch their own investigators and have extensive resources to defend negligent drivers.

“Legal counsel can assist by retaining expert witnesses, reviewing driver histories, identifying witnesses, and examining insurance policies, all while guiding families through each step of the legal process.”

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

The family of David Ray may be eligible to pursue compensation for damages, including expenses related to the death, loss of income, loss of companionship, and other hardships.

“The loss of a loved one in an accident is deeply tragic and can leave families overwhelmed with grief and emotional distress,” said Stefano Formica, Of Counsel with Bond Legal.

He added, “In addition to the emotional pain, families often face serious financial consequences. Funeral costs and the loss of financial support can create lasting challenges for those left behind.”
