HASKINS, Ohio — A motorcyclist died Wednesday morning after striking a deer and then being hit by an SUV in Wood County.
Jonathan Little, 53, of Bowling Green, was riding eastbound on Ohio 582 near Tontogany Road in Washington Township at around 5:30 a.m. Little hit a deer that was standing in the middle of the roadway.
After the initial collision, a 36-year-old Bowling Green man driving Hyundai Sante Fe SUV struck both the motorcycle and Little. The SUV driver was not hurt in the crash.
Emergency responders pronounced Little dead at the scene. The Wood County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the fatality.
The accident happened in the early morning hours when visibility may have been limited.
The SUV driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. No charges have been announced in connection with the crash.
