FORT TOWSON, OK — June 7, 2026 — A 69-year-old man was fatally struck in a two-vehicle collision on U.S. Highway 70 in Fort Towson, Choctaw County, on Sunday, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP).
OHP officials identified the victim as Joey Woodham, 69. Investigators report that Woodham was pulling out onto U.S. Highway 70 from Main Street when his vehicle was struck on the driver’s side by another oncoming vehicle. Woodham succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash. A passenger traveling in Woodham’s vehicle also sustained injuries in the collision and was transported for medical treatment.
The severity of the passenger’s injuries has not been publicly disclosed by authorities. The identity of the driver of the second vehicle has not been released at this time.
The crash remains under active investigation by the OHP. No charges or citations have been announced pending the outcome of the probe.
