COLUMBUS, OH, (April 13, 2026) – A woman was killed early Monday morning in a hit-and-run crash along Interstate 270 in Columbus.
According to the Columbus Division of Police, Jodi Tackett was inside a parked Toyota Corolla positioned about 50 feet behind a minivan near Georgesville Road at approximately 2:40 a.m.
Authorities said an eastbound Audi A4 veered off the roadway and struck the rear of Tackett’s vehicle. The impact pushed the Corolla into a person who was outside a nearby minivan changing a tire.
Tackett was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:51 a.m. The pedestrian sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to Grant Medical Center.
The driver of the Audi fled the scene on foot but was later apprehended by police. The crash reconstruction unit is continuing to investigate. Charges are pending.
