Jennifer Hoffart hurt in Sibley County Hwy 19 rollover accident, MSP says

DRYDEN TOWNSHIP, MN, (April 06, 2026) – A 42-year-old woman was injured Monday morning in a single-vehicle crash in Sibley County, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Authorities said Jennifer Carol Hoffart, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, was a passenger in a Nissan Xterra traveling eastbound on Highway 19 while towing a 2000 Chevrolet pickup truck.

At approximately 10:51 a.m., the towed vehicle began to fishtail, causing the Nissan to lose control and roll into the south ditch along the highway.

Hoffart was transported to a hospital in Arlington for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash.

The incident remains under investigation.

CRASH INVESTIGATION NEEDED

According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), 20 percent of motor vehicle crash deaths occur when a vehicle leaves the roadway.

Single-vehicle crashes, which made up 53% of accidents in 2022, are often caused by driver-related factors such as speeding, distraction, or impairment. While authorities continue to examine the cause and liability, Candice Bond, Managing Partner of Bond Legal, stressed the importance of an independent investigation by an experienced attorney.

“In addition to the thorough work of law enforcement, an attorney can re-interview key witnesses, review surveillance footage from the crash scene, and obtain phone and text records of the responsible party,” said Bond, a national analyst for Accident Injury News.

“Time is critical in cases like this, and an injured victim must ensure that evidence is reviewed promptly and effectively.”

PERSONAL INJURY CLAIM

Jennifer Carol Hoffart may have the right to pursue a personal injury lawsuit. Stefano Formica, Of Counsel with Bond Legal, explained that the stress and uncertainty following a serious injury can be overwhelming, impacting many areas of life, including family, employment, finances, and overall well-being.

“While no financial compensation can undo a serious injury, it is important that victims understand their legal rights and what they may be entitled to,” Formica added. “The injured party in this crash may pursue a claim to recover damages such as medical costs, future care, pain and suffering, and emotional distress.”
