CLERMONT, Ohio (July 9, 2026) — A motorcycle crash in Clermont County on Thursday night killed the operator and seriously injured the passenger, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The collision occurred in the 1900 block of U.S. Route 50 just after 10 p.m.
Preliminary reports indicate that a 2015 Harley-Davidson Street Glide was traveling eastbound on U.S. 50 when the driver, a 47-year-old Batavia resident, failed to negotiate a curve, causing the motorcycle to leave the roadway. The Harley-Davidson then crashed into a ditch and overturned, OSHP said. The 47-year-old motorcycle operator suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Jennifer Birchfield, 41, of Mt. Orab, a passenger, was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.
The circumstances leading to the crash were not immediately known.
