OBLONG, IL (June 25, 2026) — Jenna Pitcher, 38, of Newton, was injured Thursday in a head-on collision on State Route 33 in Crawford County that sent five people to area hospitals, according to the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department.
Investigators said a 36-year-old Annapolis man was traveling west on State Route 33 when he crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a vehicle driven by Pitcher near the Children’s Christian Home.
Emergency crews extricated Pitcher from her vehicle before transporting her to Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson with unspecified injuries.
Two juveniles riding with Pitcher were also taken to Crawford Memorial Hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
The Annapolis driver was airlifted to Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana with unspecified injuries, while a passenger in his vehicle transported himself to Crawford Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
