MANHATTAN BEACH, Calif. — Authorities are investigating a fatal accident involving a pedestrian and a suspected impaired driver on May 4. Manhattan Beach Police arrested Jenia Belt, 33, after officers responded to the scene on Sepulveda Boulevard.
Belt was driving a dark-colored vehicle when she allegedly struck a pedestrian in the 100 South block of Sepulveda Boulevard. Officers found the victim lying next to the car. Emergency responders transported the pedestrian to a trauma center, but she later succumbed.
Police booked Belt on charges of murder and DUI causing injury.
Officials have not released additional details about the victim.
Investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the accident. Authorities urge anyone with information to contact law enforcement.
