Jaylyn Fehr among three teens killed in Franklin County crash

FRANKLIN, FL, (April 06, 2026) – A teenage girl from Georgia was among three people killed in a single-vehicle crash Monday morning in Franklin County.

Authorities said Jaylyn Fehr, a junior at Horizon Christian Academy, was traveling in a Jeep with other teenagers when the vehicle left Florida 65, struck a tree line, and caught fire during a spring break trip.

Officials confirmed that three occupants were pronounced dead at the scene. A fourth passenger survived the initial impact and was rescued by bystanders before the vehicle became fully engulfed in flames. She was transported to a Tallahassee hospital in critical condition.

The investigation is ongoing.

CRASH INVESTIGATION

“It is critical to determine the exact cause of crashes like this. An attorney has the ability to review insurance coverage, retain expert witnesses, conduct background checks, and identify key witnesses,” said Candice Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal.

She emphasized that in incidents such as this, conducting an independent investigation promptly is essential to preserve evidence.

“Beyond reviewing the police report, an attorney will assess all possible contributing factors,” Bond said. “Legal professionals can engage experts, evaluate driver histories, locate witnesses, and analyze insurance coverage. Acting as an advocate, an attorney can help guide victims and families through what can often be a complex process.”

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

Pending the results of the investigation, the family of Jaylyn Fehr may be eligible to file a wrongful death claim. Loved ones may seek compensation for loss of companionship, pain and suffering, and emotional distress following such a tragic incident.

“The emotional toll after losing a loved one in a crash can be overwhelming,” said Stefano Formica, Of Counsel at Bond Legal.

“We understand the difficulties families face, and ensuring their rights are protected is essential. A wrongful death attorney can monitor the investigation and help make sure that the family’s legal interests are properly represented,” Formica added.
