OLDSMAR, FL (May 28, 2026) — A 27-year-old woman was arrested Thursday in connection with a crash in Oldsmar that claimed the life of a 6-year-old girl, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said the collision occurred April 30 at the intersection of Tampa Road and St. Petersburg Drive. Investigators determined that an eastbound Nissan Altima and a westbound Tesla Model 3 entered the intersection at the same time as the Tesla driver attempted to turn south onto St. Petersburg Drive.
Emergency responders transported all four occupants involved in the collision to area hospitals. Authorities said the 6-year-old girl later died from injuries suffered in the crash approximately one week after the incident.
A 4-year-old boy riding in the Nissan, the 52-year-old Tesla driver, and the Nissan driver also sustained injuries and were hospitalized, officials said.
Investigators noted that speed appeared to be a contributing factor in the collision.
Authorities arrested the Nissan driver, identified as Jayanna Clark, on Thursday. She was booked into the Pinellas County Jail and faces charges of vehicular homicide and two counts of child neglect.
The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the crash.
