Javier Morales-Perez Killed in Plantersville TX Highway 105 Crash

PLANTERSVILLE, TX (June 26, 2026) — A 32-year-old Navasota resident lost his life Friday morning following a multi-vehicle collision along Highway 105 East near the Relay Station in Plantersville, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).

The collision occurred at approximately 6:30 a.m.

Preliminary findings indicate that Javier Morales-Perez was driving a 2014 Honda CR-V eastbound on Highway 105 when he slowed to make a left turn into a construction site. Investigators said a 2019 Subaru Outback traveling behind the Honda failed to slow down and struck the rear of the CR-V.

The force of the impact pushed the Honda into the westbound lanes, where it was struck head-on by a Ford F-350.

Morales-Perez was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities said the drivers of the Subaru Outback and the Ford F-350 were treated at the scene and later released.

The Texas Department of Public Safety continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash. No additional information has been released.

CRASH INVESTIGATION NEEDED

Thousands of people are killed in traffic crashes across the United States each year, with many collisions linked to speeding, distracted driving, impaired driving, or other unsafe behaviors. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 8,055 people died in motor vehicle crashes during the first quarter of 2025.

As investigators continue working to determine the exact cause of this collision and any potential liability, Candice Bond, an experienced accident attorney and Managing Partner of Bond Legal, emphasized the importance of conducting an independent legal investigation alongside the official inquiry.

“In addition to the work completed by law enforcement, an attorney can revisit the crash scene, speak with key witnesses, review available surveillance footage, and obtain phone and texting records from the party who may be liable,” said Bond, a national analyst for Accident Injury News.

“Time is critical in cases like these, and it is important that the victim’s family acts promptly to help ensure valuable evidence is preserved and carefully examined.”

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

Pending the outcome of the investigation, the family of Javier Morales-Perez may have the right to pursue a wrongful death claim. Families of wrongful death victims may seek compensation for the loss of companionship, pain and suffering, and emotional distress resulting from a tragic accident.

“We understand that losing a loved one is not only a deeply emotional loss but also an economic one,” said Stefano Formica, of counsel with Bond Legal.

“If someone else’s negligence contributed to your loved one’s death, speaking with a wrongful death attorney can help you understand your legal rights and pursue the justice and compensation you may be entitled to.”
