Jaime Humberto Andrade dies after El Paso BMW collision

EL PASO, TX, (April 06, 2026) — A 56-year-old man was killed Monday night in a rear-end collision in West El Paso, according to authorities.

Police reported that Jaime Humberto Andrade was driving a Subaru Outback in the 6300 block of North Desert Boulevard shortly after 9:15 p.m. when his vehicle was struck from behind by a BMW 428i.

Investigators said the BMW was being driven at a high rate of speed by a 19-year-old El Paso resident at the time of the crash.

Andrade was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries. The collision occurred near Paseo Del Norte Boulevard and Artcraft Road.

FATAL TWO-VEHICLE ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION

Special Traffic Investigators along with a DWI task force responded to examine the crash scene. Authorities believe alcohol may have played a role in the incident.

According to Candice Bond, an experienced auto accident attorney, approximately 90% of rear-end crashes are linked to distracted driving.

Common distractions include texting, eating, adjusting the radio, observing roadside incidents, and interacting with passengers. Bond emphasized that in cases like this, it is crucial to initiate an independent investigation promptly to preserve key evidence for the victim’s family.

“Beyond the efforts of law enforcement, an attorney can gather critical evidence to demonstrate whether a driver acted recklessly, which often requires extensive resources,” said Bond, Managing Partner of Bond Legal and a national analyst for Accident Injury News. “Legal counsel can re-interview witnesses, review surveillance footage, and obtain phone and texting records from the responsible party. An attorney also serves as an advocate, guiding grieving families while safeguarding their legal rights and interests.”

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

Depending on the outcome of the investigation, the family of Jaime Humberto Andrade may be eligible to pursue a wrongful death claim. Loved ones of victims can seek compensation for loss of companionship, funeral expenses, emotional suffering, and other damages resulting from such a tragic accident.

“The grief and emotional toll following the loss of a loved one can be overwhelming,” said Stefano Formica, Of Counsel with Bond Legal. “We understand the challenges families face, and protecting their rights is essential. A wrongful death attorney will monitor the investigation and work to ensure that the family’s legal interests are upheld.”
