GSP: Jacob Stiles dies after Haralson Co rear-end collision on US 27

HARALSON, GA, (March 21, 2026) — An 18-year-old Bremen resident, Jacob Stiles, was killed Saturday morning in a multi-vehicle crash on U.S. 27 in Haralson County, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

Authorities said the crash occurred at about 11:30 a.m. when a Chevrolet Tahoe stopped in the southbound lane for an animal. A Honda Civic carrying Stiles stopped behind it, but a Chevrolet Silverado failed to stop and struck the Civic, pushing it into the Tahoe.

A fourth vehicle was also involved in the chain-reaction collision. Stiles was transported to a hospital, where he later died. The driver of the Civic sustained serious injuries.

The accident remains under investigation.

A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to help support the victim’s family.

CRASH INVESTIGATION NEEDED

Jacob’s grieving family is now coping with the devastating loss of a loved one.

During such difficult times, it is important for families to seek experienced legal representation. An attorney can conduct an independent investigation, gather crucial evidence, and deal with insurance companies that may attempt to settle claims for far less than they are worth.

“Insurance companies are often focused on minimizing payouts and may not consider the long-term impact on victims and their families,” said Candice Bond, Managing Partner of Bond Legal and a national analyst with Accident Injury News.

“Attorneys work diligently to advocate for their clients, ensuring they are treated fairly and receive appropriate compensation.”

Each year, approximately 36,000 people lose their lives and another 1.9 million are injured in motor vehicle crashes nationwide. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, leading causes include speeding, impaired driving, lane violations, failure to yield, and distracted driving.

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

The family members of Jacob Stiles may be entitled to pursue a wrongful death claim. Loved ones of victims can seek compensation for loss of companionship, pain and suffering, and emotional distress following a tragic accident.

“We understand the immense hardship families face after losing a loved one, and protecting their rights is essential,” said Candice Bond, Managing Partner of Bond Legal.

“A wrongful death attorney can stay informed on the investigation and help ensure that the family’s best interests are represented. Surviving relatives may pursue damages for emotional suffering, loss of companionship, and other impacts resulting from a catastrophic accident.”
