Isaac Chacon held in Dallas DUI crash that left two dead

DALLAS, TX, (April 05, 2026) – A 22-year-old man, identified as Isaac Chacon, was arrested early Sunday following a crash in southeast Dallas that claimed the lives of two people, according to the Dallas Police Department.

Police said the collision occurred at approximately 2:09 a.m. near Military Parkway and North Jim Miller Road when Chacon’s vehicle struck another car. Both occupants of the second vehicle suffered fatal injuries, with one pronounced dead at the scene and the other later dying at a hospital.

Witnesses reportedly detained Chacon at the scene until officers arrived. He now faces two counts of intoxication manslaughter and two counts of collision involving death. The crash remains under investigation.

DUI ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION

This accident was entirely preventable. Impaired drivers pose a serious danger to everyone on the road and can cause devastating consequences.

“Drunken and drugged drivers can face criminal charges after a crash that results in injury or death,” said Candice Bond, a Managing Partner at Bond Legal.

She further noted, “In addition to criminal proceedings, the victim’s family may also pursue compensation through a civil lawsuit against the at-fault party.”

According to the National Safety Council, 10 percent of all fatal automobile accidents are caused by drivers operating vehicles under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medications. These incidents are the second-leading cause of traffic-related deaths in the United States.

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

Pending the investigation, the family of a victim may be eligible to file a wrongful death claim. Loved ones of wrongful death victims can seek damages for loss of companionship, pain and suffering, and emotional distress after a tragic accident like this.

“The grief and emotional toll after losing a loved one in a crash can be overwhelming,” said Stefano Formica, of counsel with Bond Legal.

“We understand the challenges families face, and protecting their legal rights is essential. A wrongful death attorney can monitor the official investigation and help ensure that the family’s best interests remain safeguarded,” Formica added.
