Four occupants from two other vehicles involved in the collision were treated for minor injuries.

The circumstances surrounding the multi-vehicle crash remain under review by authorities.

CRASH INVESTIGATION NEEDED

The CHP is expected to release a full report after investigating the accident that claimed the life of Mr. Aguilar.

In the meantime, Candice Bond said that accidents such as this require an independent investigation by a reputable law firm to preserve evidence and protect the rights of a victim’s grieving family.

“In addition to the diligent work of law enforcement, an attorney can re-interview important witnesses, analyze any surveillance video from the scene of the crash, and obtain phone and texting records of the liable party,” said Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal and national analyst for Accident Injury News. “Serving as an advocate, an attorney can help compassionately guide a family who has lost a loved one during this difficult time, as well as protect their legal rights and best interests.”

Each year, roughly 36,000 people die, and another 1.9 million people are injured in motor vehicle accidents in this country. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, speeding was the primary cause of fatal crashes last year, followed by the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medication; failure to stay in the proper lane; failure to yield the right of way; and distracted driving.

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

The family members of Hugo Macias Aguilar may be entitled to a wrongful death claim. Relatives of wrongful death victims may seek damages for loss of companionship, pain, suffering, and emotional distress following a tragic or catastrophic accident.

“We understand just what families are forced to go through, and having their rights protected is vital,” said Stefano Formica, Of Counsel with Bond Legal. “A wrongful death lawyer will stay updated on the official investigation and help ensure that their best interests are taken care of. Relatives of wrongful death victims are entitled to seek damages for the loss of companionship, pain and suffering, and emotional distress following a tragic or catastrophic accident.”
