AURORA, IL, (May 11, 2026) – Heaven Williams, 21, was tragically killed Monday morning in a wrong-way collision on Interstate 88 in Aurora, according to the Illinois State Police.
Investigators said Williams was a passenger in a vehicle traveling westbound when it was struck by a driver heading eastbound in the westbound lanes of I-88 at approximately 4 a.m. Williams and another woman in the vehicle were transported to a hospital, where both later died from their injuries.
Authorities continue to investigate the deadly crash. No additional details about the wrong-way driver or possible contributing factors have yet been released.
Wrong-way crashes remain a major concern on U.S. roadways and are often linked to impaired driving, distracted driving, driver confusion, or roadway design issues.
