CHICAGO — Chicago police searching for the suspect in an evening hit-and-run involving a red sedan that injured a woman during a protest.
The incident happened around 6:30 p.m. in the 0–100 block of E. Monroe Street, as people gathered to protest immigration enforcement efforts. CPD officers said a red four-door car drove into the crowd and struck 66-year-old Heather Blair while she stood near the roadway.
The vehicle fled eastbound without stopping. Police have not released a description of the driver.
Medics transported Blair to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where doctors treated her for a fractured arm. She was later released. Her husband was able to avoid the vehicle.
As of Wednesday morning, officers had not made any arrests. Detectives continue to review video and witness accounts. Police have asked anyone with information or footage to contact Area Three detectives. The department has not confirmed whether protest organizers are cooperating.
